Bobby Harrison
About the presenter:
Bobby Harrison is an award-winning nature photographer, speaker, writer, and educator based in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Harrison holds a B.F.A. in Photography from Andrew’s University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and a M.S. in Media Technology from Alabama A&M University. He recently retired as a Professor of Photography and Director of the Art Program at Oakwood University where he held the rank of Associate Professor. He is a charter member of the North American Nature Photography Association, and served on the Board of Directors from January 2001 to February 2004. Mr. Harrison has published more than 100 articles and photographs in various national and international nature magazines (Audubon, Living Bird, Birder’s World, Bird Watching, WildBird, Nature’s Best, National Wildlife, International Wildlife, Sinra, Birds and Blooms, Outdoor Photography, Creation Illustrated, and others). He is also one of the featured photographers in a thirteen-part television series entitled “Nature’s Best Photography.” His photography has garnered awards in the widely acclaimed Nature’s Best International Photography Awards, Audubon Bird Photography competition, and Lucie Awards. In 2005, Mr. Harrison was elected a Fellow of The Explorers Club of New York City, and on March 18, 2006, was one of the recipients of The Explorers Club’s, Presidents Award for Conservation.
At the FOC 2024:
This presentation is designed to improve bird photography skills for both beginners and advanced photographers. This program covers essential topics such as: Essential equipment for bird photography, obtaining the perfect exposure, focusing techniques, depth-of-field control, arranging the perfect composition, and lighting. Other topics include bird photography genres such as birds in flight, behavior, portraits, and post-processing techniques. These topics are designed to improve photography skills using DSLR and Mirrorless imaging.
